Ayoo: An Example of the Impact of the ISC Program of Uganda

Ayoo Christine exemplifies the vision of the ISC where a woman who is coaching and has desire to be educated is identified from a certain district and grows as a leader in her community through our program.
We met Christine at the National Secondary School Girls Football Tournament in Mbale on May 4th, 2011.  Although she hasn’t attended any coaching courses before and has limited playing experience, she continued to lead her team from St. Mary’s S.S. in Lira with passion.  We took her information and recommended her for the ISC Football Coaches Course at Old Kampala S.S. on May 16-21st, 2011.
Christine was an excellent participant in the course and attained the USSF E Coaching Certificate along with the ISC Coaching Certificate.
After the program, she helped coordinate a follow program for the Lira District.  Over 100 girls and women were involved in the clinic and Christine stood side-by-side with the ISC instructors to pass on her knowledge and passion on to the young players and other women coaches.
The ISC program believes in finding passionate and caring coaches, educating them, and empowering them to pass the knowledge on.  This produces a multiplier effect that further expands the impact of this program on women and girls in Uganda.
