The International
Sport Connection began their third training in Uganda on May 3th.
Eight American sport scientists and basketball coach experts took the 30
hour journey across the world to come together around a ball in Uganda,
Africa.
Thanks to the generous funding from SportsUnited, a
division of the U.S. Department of State, the eight Americans brought
over 22 suitcases full of enough equipment to prepare over 200 coaches and 400 children.
The group from America included three coaches from the East Coast, Paul
Nixon, Nettie Respondex, and Maeola Bolten. There were two instructors
from the West Coast, Marshall Jamieson and Megan Christensen. And
three sport scientists from the Midwest and South, Dr. Jens Omli, Lisa
Berg, and Natalie Trotter.
All of the ISC staff met in the
Amsterdam airport and finished their journey into the Entebbe airport by
May 4th. They awoke at the hotel in the capital city of Kampala and
began their journey north to Lira, Northern Uganda where the ISC
Basketball Coach Training will take place over the next 10 days!
